South Oxon Pet Services

I have been using the services of South Oxon Pet Services for more than 3 years and couldn’t recommend them enough. Amanda originally provided Gun Dog training catered for Meg my Working Cocker Spaniel who I now work on shoots, it was more the case that I needed training as Meg knows what to do 🙂 My wife and I recently went on holiday for 3 weeks and was very happy that South Oxon Pet Services were able to home board Meg for us while we were away. I’ve been using South Oxon Pet Services now for over 3 years, and cannot recommend them highly enough. After a couple of bad experiences with other dog walkers, it was a huge relief to finally find a personal, reliable, friendly, experienced, and trustworthy service. My dog, Monty, absolutely adores his walks every week and it is wonderful to know that I can leave him with Amanda for the weekend or overnight when I need a dog sitter, which means I can go away secure in the knowledge that Monty is happy and safe, with someone he knows and trusts. We love our spaniel Oscar, and there is nothing that he loves more than running free in the hedgerows and fields around here and splashing about in the river in summer with all his doggy friends from SOPS. Amanda and her team are first rate and I often sit at my desk working away while Oscar is out on a walk, and wish that I was out there with them. We have been using South Oxon Pet Services since moving to Didcot 18 months ago. We have in the past had several dog walkers and all have been great, however Amanda and the service she provides has surpassed them all. From the onset her expertise was evident in the way she took time and great care to get to know our English Springer Spaniel, Ghillie. We have found Amanda to be trustworthy and a person of exceptional integrity. It is easy to see that she truly cares for the dogs that she is responsible for, taking seriously their welfare and needs.  She treats Ghillie as if he was her own dog, making sure that when she leaves him after his walk he is comfortable and settled. Ghillie has in the past become stressed in kennels but now he goes on his holidays too.  This means that we can now go away knowing that he is being loved and looked after as one of the family. South Oxon Pet Services offers an extremely accommodating, reliable and flexible service at a competitive rate.  We believe that they are exceptional and Ghillie’s reaction to both Amanda and Tony shows he simply adores his time with them too. If I wanted to know whether my dog enjoys the services from South Oxon Pet Services, I only need to watch her waiting patiently by the door for Amanda or Gilly to arrive each day, then over-excitedly bounce towards the van on her way out, barking at them to hurry up and get in, and saying hello to her fellow canine friends already waiting for her. I just take at look at the photos of her on Facebook and you can see her enjoyment, when she gets home, she steps out one usually wet, happy, tired out dog. Sharon Copper

Amanda, Tony and the team have been helping us look after our spaniel Jackson for 18 months, almost on a daily basis plus weekends when we are away. He loves hearing that he is going to ‘see Amanda’ and comes home well walked and tired after a busy day running in the fields and swimming in Summer. We wouldn’t be without South Oxon Pet Services now, in fact we have moved recently and stayed close in their ‘catchment’ area to avoid having to change our pet care. Highly recommended!! Kath Simons

Thank you so very much for looking after our Chewy for the past 2 months while we were away on holiday. He came back to us in great spirits and looking well. Unfortunately I’m not too sure he will be getting as good walkies with me as he did with you and all his “pals”.
